Responsibilities
Staff member(s) in this role should be communicating and discussing priorities with the team and manager on an on-going basis to ensure progress against goals.
Qualifications
Deep interest in composting, farming and gardening.
Some familiarity with organic farming
Some familiarity with farm equipment and machinery.
A passion for continued learning.
Clean driving record and a current driver’s license.
Highly reliable.
Hardworking and proficient with initiative to problem solve and improve farm efficiency.
Able to take instruction and willing to ask questions in order to execute tasks effectively.
Highly personable with strong verbal communication skills.
Positive attitude, energetic disposition, and welcoming personality.
Appreciation for the natural environment.
Comfort working closely with members of a family farm with respect for their home and guests.
Hours
Fulltime or Part time if desired M – F, 7:45-4:15 pm
Year round (if desired)
Compensation
This is a non-exempt hourly position
The starting hourly wage of $15-20 will be dependent on experience with the possibility of earning benefits after 3-6 months.
If full time, there are 401K benefits after 1 year
Some Saturday work may be required during the busy (spring) season with overtime pay.

Responsibilities
- Participate routinely in bagging operations (2-3 days per week during Spring preparations)
- Be comfortable with repetitive lifting of bags up to 50 lb.
- Deliver compost to residential homes and garden centers using our farm truck and lift gate.
- Work with the Farm Manager to oversee and maintain productive and beautiful farm fields and high tunnel. Responsibilities may include, mowing, weeding, tilling, planting, harvesting, and supervising field volunteers/interns.
- Actively participate in grounds maintenance, and general farm upkeep tasks.
- Load trucks and trailers using small tractors for customers picking up compost.
- Learn to make and then regularly brew our aerated compost tea using the Earth Care Farm established recipe
- Learn the art and science of composting
- Be open to the various tasks that arise on a small family farm.
- Think big and take ownership; share your ideas and vision
