| Operated by Jayne Merner Senecal, the seedling branch of Earth Care Farm grows organic vegetable, herb, and flower plants for the home gardener. The plants are started from seed in the greenhouse at Earth Care Farm. The potting soil used to start the plants is a rich blend of Earth Care Farm compost and other ingredients certified for organic use. We choose varieties of plants based on taste, color and tolerance to Rhode Island’s climate. Many varieties are heirloom favorites including 25 varieties of heirloom tomatoes and many unique vegetables including Rainbow swiss chard, French leeks, rhubarb and bok choy. All of the seedlings grown here are also used in the fields at Earth Care Farm. Seedlings can be picked up at the farm from April 19 to June 14, 2008 during our business hours.
